IGNITE VOLLEYBALL CLUB INC - NEWS AND LEARNING HUB

-I am going to miss being on the court with my team so much. We were never the biggest or quickest team, but when we got into our rhythm and worked as one, we were unstoppable!

-I'm never going to forget how good it felt to play with Ignite. I've never felt like I was a part of something special more than I have playing for this team!

-I will be attending Augustana College next fall, majoring in secondary education.

- I plan on playing at the intramural level and also hope to coach!

Melina Savaglio (18 Storm)-

-My favorite memory is going to the Dells with 16U; I had a lot of fun getting closer with the team and we won 1st place!

-I will miss my teammates and the tournaments most.

-I will be attending the University of Illinois at Chicago next year, and am looking forward to making more friends and exploring the city.

-I would like to thank Coach Theresa and Coach Rita because they have been supportive throughout my years of volleyball.

Cecily Abbott (18 Storm)-

-My favorite memory is the last game we played as eighth graders.

-I love just being on the team and playing with everyone.

-I'm super excited to be playing volleyball club next year in Canada.

-I'm really going to miss all my teammates. I've been with some of these girls for 5 years.

-Some advice I would have is keep pushing and playing. Never give up.

-Next year I'm going to Bishop University in Quebec, Canada.

-Also a coach I would like to shout out is coach Theresa! She's been there since day one and she is a great great coach and an amazing role model for me

Julee Paradee (18 Storm)-

- My favorite memory is getting to know the girls and becoming friends with them.

- I like that I am always evolving as a player

- I liked when Coach Rita would get "upset" when we tried to protect her from getting hit with the ball. She would say, "I'm pregnant, not incapable!"

-I will miss playing the game with my friends.

-Advce for younger athletes: Listen and respect your coaches. They want the best for you.

-I will be attending Elmhurst College next year, and hope to be a positive influence as a kindergarten teacher.

-I would like to thank all the coaches, especially Coach Laura for her kindness!

Lauren Raihle (18 Storm)- in her own words-

-My favorite memory was the Wisconsin Dells tournament when I was on the U16 team. We did really well in the tournament and our team got even closer on the trip.

-My favorite part about myself that developed due to my position as a volleyball athlete is my ability to not dwell on mistakes when they are made, but to rather learn from them and quickly move on.

-Don’t be hard on yourself when you make a mistake in the game. Rather, learn from the mistake and make it your goal to earn a point for the point you lost.

-I will attend the University of Santa Barbara. I am looking forward to living in a new and warmer environment where I can make more friends and play beach volleyball year-round!

-I would like to thank coach Rita and coach Sarah for being extremely supportive and knowledgeable while being my coach. Most of all, I would like to thank coach Theresa for being my coach for three years and creating a productive, happy, and supportive environment where I could play volleyball and have fun.

-I will miss the sense of community and the welcoming atmosphere the coaches and my teammates created. I will also surprisingly miss all the super long tournaments.

Chase Thompson (18 Storm)- for her dedication to mentoring younger athletes in our Volleykids program!

Emily Hover (14 Flames)- for her outstanding performance in her school athletics, with her serving!

Coach Sarah for her recognition by IHSA as an outstanding coach at Fenwick as the Head Varsity Softball Coach
